I replaced the fuel pump. Car started then ran bad. Started smoking in the fusible links and the wiring harness. Now the pump won't come on to start the car. Did the relay go bad and blow the fusible link?

Maybe both. Is there any pinched wires, at the tank, where it mounts up.? Did the old pump have any shorting problems?
