After reviewing "Drivability and Emission Control" section in a Chilton repair manual, I have found out that the Air Heater Connector is missing! This connects from the (I think) exhaust manifold to the Air Cleaner Assembly (where air filter and crankshaft filters are located). My 2- part question is this: What does this (hose) do and what symptoms can i expect down the road if I do not install one. Thank you.

The purpose of that is to provide warm air to the engine when it is cold outside. It will help the engine to run better when cold.
