1993 Dodge Shadow my transmission

when i put my car into reverse it goes forward. i have to play with the shifter until it goes into revers. then i have to play with it to go into drive. i dont know what it could be.

This sounds like a selector adjustment problem, you will have to get a mechanic to inspect this for you.
