1991 Dodge Shadow 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i hava a shadow 91 when i put the shifter in drive it wil not take in drive only in reverse whats the problem ? it take in drive when the engine is hot ??

Is the trans fluid fill and clean? It could be something as simple as a plugged trans filter. Will it goes into drive if you rev the engine?
