Why does my truck make a lifter clacking noise when i start it but goes away after i rev it? It only does this after not being run for 8 or more hours.

It could be the result of an oil pump getting weak, a partially clogged oil pump screen, or the oil filter you use doesn't have an anti-flowback valve and it takes a few seconds for the oil pressure to build.
