Recently my ram has coughed and sputtered when I accelerate from a slow speed. The engine is at operating temperature. It wants to shut off, then recovers and runs fine. I have ran 2 cans of Sea Foam thru the gas. It doesn't do it all the time. The first time it kicked on the check engine light. Today it coughed but did not kick the engine light. The engine runs fine any other time.

If the check engine light came on, there is a trouble code stored in the computer that will identify where the problem is coming from. What I recommend is to take the truck to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. Most will do it for free. Write the code down that they give you and let me know what it is.
