My temperature gauge is registering very high about 90% of the gauge but the engine isn't to hot the mechanic said. Changed the thermostat and it stayed the same then got a new radiator cap with a temperature gauge and its staying 170 or lower? Any idea's? Temperature sensor? I've spent $225 and really the only answer is coming from the new cap. Could the engine be hotter than the coolant the new cap is reading?
