2003 Dodge Ram fan control

I have a 2003 ram 2500 . when you turn on the fan control ,for say defrost it doesn't select it properly or some times not at all or you have to play around with both the fan and the selector to force it to work ??????? any clue

If your saying the fan works ok, but, doesn't come out the defrost vents like it should, there was a TSB for that, TSB 24-004-03 The above link is part of the tsb, I can't tell if that is your problem or not?
