2003 dodge ram 1500 has exhaust manifold leak..replacing gaskets is probably most ideal say i wanted to install headers (replaces exhaust manifolds right?) for added horsepower, would this take care of my exhaust leak

It would take care of the leak because you would also be replacing the gaskets. However, now you have other things to consider. When you put headers on it, the exhaust system set up changes. You need to make sure the catylatic converters are replaced and the O2 sensors are functional.

Anytime you change things, it leads to more work. We always recommend staying with direct fit parts. The added HP from the headers will hardly be noticeable.
