2003 Dodge Ram Brake lights stay on

My brake lights are staying on, i went to replace the brake light switch and it did not help, in fact when I took the switch out the lights still stay on. I also depressed the plunger all the way in and lights still stay on.

The brake light circuit before and after the switch is shorted together that's the only way for that to happen
