5.9 diesel lost power steering and brake boost, fluid comes out front of pump behind pulley. Do you agree pump is bad and is there a special bleeding or just fill run and turn lock to lock and let it settle.? the brake boost part is not familiar to me. Keith

Yes, if it's leaking out the pump shaft, the pump is bad.

It will eventually self bleed but try not to get it too aerated when you fill it.

Fill it once and start it only momentarily to pump out the reservoir, then shut if off and refill it again. Repeat this until it's full and then let it sit for a bit and the air will rise to the top. Don't churn it up when it's low because that will only pump a lot more air into the oil.
