2002 Dodge Ram Wont dive in 2 Wheel

My truck will not drive in two wheel but will run in 4 wheel drive. What is the problem and how do i fix it. Will it hurt to run the truck in 4 wheel for an extended period of time without it working in 2 wheel drive?

HI:
You should never have it in 4X4 on dry surfaces. It will damage the unit. As far as the 2 whee drive is concerned, make sure the linkage to the transger case hasn't slipped not allowiing the truck to engauge into 2 wheel drive. If the linkage isn't going far enough, it sill seem like it is in neutral or you may hear gear grinding.
