Computer problem
2002 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 50'000 miles

My truck stopped running while on the road. Have taken it to a mechanic and they say the computed has failed and will require a new replacement.

I haven't heard of this being a problem. Can you tell me how often this occurs, is there a record of computer problemswith the truck? I thought it might be the fuel pump. But what do I know.

I think watching the videos on how to check for spark and fuel will help you

I would also try to get the codes if possible
as to answer if computer is a common problem I don't believe it is
is your gone it need to be check
and from what I can sense from your question is that you don't trust the shop your truck at
get another opinion have another tech take a look at it for you

i would check fuses relays ASD relay
crank sensor fuel pressure and fuel pump
