po340 scanner reads what it is. but. can it be broken down to further relate to the diagnostics?

The codes don't do the diagnosing for you. They merely identify the situation that the computer saw and the technician has to figure out what caused it. In this case the code means the computer is not seeing a cam sensor signal. It could be the sensor itself, internal timing problems, any related wiring or the PCM itself. We use a lab scope to test the signal from the sensor itself.
