does a rattle and clunking noise from the rear mean I have a broken shock. every time i hit a curb or bump in the road, this horrible noise comes from the rear.

Hi:
It could be a shock, or it could be the exhaust banging on the underside of the truck. I would recommend crawing under the truck and take a look for something that is broken.

Let me know what you find or if you have any other questions.
