How do I change the pinion seal

Mark the companion flange so you can line it up when you put it back together. Next, remove the flange. Remove the nut and washer from the pinion, using a puller:

Remove the seal with a slide hammar and replace it. Make sure to put a thin coating of gear oil on the lip of the seal. Also, make sure to replace the nut and washer. NOTE: The convex side of the washer must face out. Let me know if this helps. Joe
