2002 Dodge Ram idle

My 2002 dodge ram 1500 4.7 liter V8 has erratic idling it starts out at 600 rpms and jumps to 1200 rpms and continues to do it at idle so i thought it could be the egr valve but this year truck doesnt have one

I would say either the throttle position sensor or idle air control valve or even a vacuum leak. Has the check engine light come on?
