2002 Dodge Ram car stalls when in reverse

I have a 2002 dodge ram and the car stalls in reverse. when i shift it in reverse it doesnt stall but as soon as i give it gas it stalls. it only does this in reverse and i cant figure it out. please help

Does it still do it if you give it a slight bit of gas before shifting? Your torque converter could be starting to fail, but most commonly would be a failing crankshaft position sensor.
