2002 Dodge Ram 4wheel drive not kicking in

since it has been snowing i just started using my 4x4drive and when i went to pull someone out i noticed my front tires were not spinning. what are my solutions for this problem?

Do you have an electric shift or manual shift?

Let me know. Also, are you sure the neither tire was spinning?
