2001 Dodge Ram squealing belt

my belts started squealing, I changed all possible pulleys when I noticed the harmonic balancer pulley moving to far out of alignment causing the problem. When not running you can move harmonic balancer with pry bar about 5/8 of an inch. Is this a engine or crankshaft problem

That is a lot. Have you made sure the harmonic balancer is tight and not damaged? If the crank had that much end play, you would have a lot of engine noise.
