2001 Dodge Ram Knocking and missing

My dodge has developed a miss in it between 48 and 52 mph's. The rpm is at about 1500 to 1800. recently I have noticed a metalic clanking sound intermitently, also a loud squek. I thougth the squeek may have been the acc. pedal but it makes the noise no mater if I am on cruise control or manuelly acc. My wife states she here what she describes as a chattering noise also. I have a hearing problem and can not here the chattering. (besides my wife that is).

My suggestion is to do a basic maintenance to it,spark plug wires and all.The noise that you guys hear may just be the exhaust heat shields or the exhaust system itself.One of the braces may have broken off and is rubbing at certain engine vibrations .Listen to your wife she may have just diagnost your problem,now all you got to do is crawl under and fix it.Happy hunting(post your progress)
