2001 Dodge Ram V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Hey guys, I have a problem with my 2001 Ram 1500 5.2 L V8. It wasnt turning over, and it didnt sound like a starter problem, so I replaced both the battery and the alternator. Now it starts up just fine, but I'll drive it a mile or so down the road and the voltage meter will drop off to 0. I'll turn around and drive it home just fine, and when I start it again in a few hours, it will again start up just fine, then voltage meter will drop off. Had the battery checked, and holds a charge just fine.

Actually, for it to drop to 0, there has to be a problem with the gauge or wiring to it. For there to be 0 voltage, nothing (including the engine) would work.

Pardon me, 8 it drops off to 8, the lowest setting on the gauge all the way to the left. But I see your point about the gauge being faulty with the needle falling off and the truck being still drivable.
