2000 Dodge Ram V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic alot miles

i tried hooking up my spot light to my power outlet the bare wires touched (pos and neg) and now it wont work, probably a shortage, what to do

Have you checked the fuse? Chances are it is bad.
