We noticed the lights didn't come on when engaging the four wheel drive, though it still gears down to low range. Took the vacuum hoses off the actuator and there is no vacuum at that point. What is the source of the vacuum? Is it from the transmission or from the engine? What should we look for to correct the problem?

Hi:
Follow the hose back. Eventually you will end up at the vacuum sourche, the engine.

As far as the low lock, it will work but you still will not be in 4 wheel drive.

Let me knmow if you have any other questions.
