2000 Dodge Ram Two Wheel Drive Automatic

The truck is overheating. We replaced the thermostat; water pump, gaskets and hoses. Still overheating. The instructions to the water pump state to "Purge system of air". How is this done?

If there is no bleeder on the thermostat housing, remove the heater core return hose. Do this when it is cold because coolant will come out. Only run it for about 10 seconds and all air should be out.

Let me know if it helps.
