2000 Dodge Ram fuel pump dead

Hi:
the fuel tank needs to be removed to replace it, so that takes time. However, that does seem high. How many hours labor are they charging you for?

We bickered with the repair shop and ended up getting the job done for $600 total, parts and labor. They were charging us $600 for pump initially and 200 for labor until we told them we found pump online for 1/3 the cost. Then when I called local parts stores, I actually found the one that the garage ordered the part from and they told me the price they were charging the garage. The garage was marking up the part almost $400. When we threatened to tow our truck elsewhere they did better on the price for us. It shouldn't have to be this hard to get good, honest service, you know?

I try to fix cars and I hate the "parts dept." more than you know...They are PARTS NAZI's!!!...THANK YOU for calling them on it!!
