My dashboard is breaking. It's breaking into pieces. It's the whole dashboard (on top).
Is this a recall item? What are my options?

It is my understanding the in the 98 thru 01 model ram 1500 this is a common problem that the dash will crack in to many peices and then cause hugh holes. Dodge will not admit this is a defect or a common problem but there are hundreds of people with this exact problem. I heard that it is because Dodge was able to get cheapper material but the quality was also less. The replacement from dodge is about $400 to $500 and then you have anywhere from #300 to $600 in Labor. The other option that I know of is to buy a cover and install it. I hope that this helps.
