Brake warning light on

My wife had the anti-lock brake light come on once and about two weeks later she had the brake replaced but when she got the truck back the anti-lock brake light was still on and a red colored brake light was on. When she asked the repairman about this he told her that it would probably go out by itself but that was a year ago and both lights are still on but the brake function properly. How do we get them both to go out? We've tried disconnecting the battery cables but nothing will work

If the light is on, chances are there is a problem with the system. If there is a bad ABS sensor, the light won't go off. As far as the guy who replaed the brakes and said it would go out, he is wrong.

What I need you to do is have the computer scanned to determine why the light is on. If the light is on, there is a trouble code stored in the system. Most parts stores will do it for free. Once you find out the code, then you'll know where the problem is coming from.

Have it done, and let me know what you find.

Yes, you can get them. They are under 100.00. You need an OBDII scanner. Just double check with your shop.

Let me know what you find. Also, check oyt the store on this site. THey have some really good bargans on parts and tools like scanners.

Let me know what you find.
