Electrical problem
1999 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100k miles

Truck tried to start, battery died, click click click in cab. Charged battery, no start. jumped started, died immediately. Took battery in to check. Battery good. How do you check or remove the altenator?
Also, prior to this, exhaust system has been claddering when accelerating. Husband thinks altenator or plugged catylitic converter. What do you think?

if you got clicks then is probably charging system failure. most auto part stores will test the alternator for you free of charge, on or off vehicle. also ensure cables are clean and tight at all connections.
