Can I bypass a locked-up AC compressor clutch by using a drive belt for 5.2L w/o AC ? This belt will be shorter of course, the routing diagrams appear to be the same with the exclusion of the compressor.

Looks like you have one of the few vehicles that they put a little thought into teh drive belt routing... to answer your question, yes you just need a belt for your vehicle without A/C
My 99 Dodge Ram 1500- 5.2L has a seized AC compressor. Can I re-route a shorter serpentine belt to bypass the seized part?? If I can, do I need a new tensioner or can i adjust the old one?
If any of this is a possiblility, will I require any specialty tools?
