I have a 1998 Ram 1500 4X4 auto trans. The 4 wheel drive will not engage. From what I have heard it is the Front Drive Axle 4wd Shift Actuator. The parts that I have seen on the internet are only the Vacuum Baffel. Would I need to replace the Actuator Motor as well or should this Vacuum Baffel fix the problem? The Baffel is only around $150 and the entire assembly is around $300.

You need to follow the vacuum lines from the intake to the transfer case, to the vacuum canister, to the front axle to see if you are losing it at any one point.
