The day before the truck ran fine. Then the next morning when I started the engine the idle was and 2000rpm.
I thought maybe it was cold but when i put the truck in gear it idled down to around 1000 rpm, when I got on the road the transmission did not want to change gears as normal. it would go up to around 2500 rpm be before it would change into overdrive then back down to around 1500.
When I stopped after about 15 miles and put it into park it was still idling high. I turned the engine off and re-started and it was a little hard to start but when it did the same results - idling around 2000 rom then a slow reduction down to around 1500 setting still.
I checked for lose vacuum hose but found none. What other steps should i take.
