1997 Dodge Ram Good Alternator but wont make enough amps to

I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 4x4 with a 360 when i drive it the gen light comes on and it shows that its barely charging had alternator checked and it shows that its good. bought a new one and it still does same thing. battery is new as well. why are my amps so low?

Make sure you have a good ground at the engine block and check the fuseable link between the alt and the battery.
