how to change the transmission filter

The trans filter is in the pan section of the transmission. You will need to remove the trans pan to access it. When doing so, a lot of fluid will come splashing out when you remove the pan, so loosten all bolt and then remove all the bolts from one side so the pan tilts and the fluid goes in that direction.

Once in the pan, you will either need to just pop of the filter off or there may be 2 or 3 screws holding it in place. Based on the year, if you don't see any screws, it is basically pressed on with an O-Ring sealing it. In other words, it will just pop off.
