1996 Dodge Ram Throttle sticks

My truck recently had a problem with the throttle sticking. It was like cruise control was on and no way to turn it off. Wondering why this happened?

Sometimes the cable gets dry. Try spraying some lubricant in the cable. This happened to a friends car once and that cleared up the problem(except his was a mustang and when he put cruise on it would be stuck on full throttle and he be doing 100 mph in a sec. Lol)So I would try to spray the cables and see if that helps first
