I have a 1996 Dodge Ram B2500 van, and at 40 MPH it doesnt do the last shift..it starts jerking and the van shakes, but if you push the petal down harder then it basically works through it. I can bring it up to like 60 MPH and then let it drop back below 40 MPH and it just does it all over again.
Can someone tell me whats wrong with it?

When was trans fluid and filter last changed (how many miles ago)? Does fluid look red/clear or brownish and smell burned? I would change fluid and filter first, if that doesn't help you may have to take it to a transmission shop...
