Sometimes when I first start my truck and put it into gear it will suddenly shut off. I can start it right back up with no problem except it usually dies two more times. It dies three times within five minutes at the most after I start it. This has happened a few times. My oil light comes on when this happens. So I added more oil and it stopped for a few weeks. But it did it again recently. I don't know what is wrong with it?

Was the oil low? Also when this happens, has the check engine light ever come on and stayed on?

Let me know.

The oil was low and I added more. But it did it again afterwards. The light has not stayed on.

I would start by checking to see if the fuel pressure is low. Here is a how to:

Let me know what you find. Also, if it has been a long time since you changed the fuel filter, it may be a good idea to try that.

Let me know what you find.
