I have a 1995 dodge ram that has 239K miles on it and I have had the transmission redone 4 years ago.

It was running perfectly but the other day I noticed it loosing power as I was climbing a hill and it wasnt shifting automatically it would stay in the 3 rpm and not shift down. I put more transmission fluid in and anti freeze and oil but this did not solve the issue. it says its code 55 but I am not sure what that means.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Hi:
A code 55 means the computer has completed its check. If there are no other codes, nothing is stored.

As far as the problem, how low was the trans fluid? Is it clean or does it appear dark and have a burnt smell?
