1995 Dodge Ram 4wheel drive

My 4wheel drive quit working, front shaft ok, used it worked ok, 20 miles later needed to use it but would not engauge, where would I look first to trouble shoot prob?

First, I need to know if it has electric or manual 4wd. Next, I need you to check to make sure there are no damaged vacuum hoses to the front differential. If everything looks good, remove the vacuum lines and check to see if you get vacuum to one in 2wd and the other in 4wd.
