1994 Dodge Ram TRAMSMITION SHIFT

Hi, I have a 1994 dodge ram 2500 v6 diesel automatic transmition and when the engine is cold at start, the gear shift from 1 to 2 to 3 is hard but deseapear when the engine is hot after 15 minutes, what is the problem.

Yes the shift is kind of delay, it just doesn't shift good when engine cold, even with more rpm, it as problems to shift form 1 to 2 to 3, and them after 10 minutes everything's work good. I read form someone who had the same kind of problems and he say's he change some bearings but did last to long and then it wasa computer problem ( did say what) but it fix it.

It could be a couple things. You have a trans control module (TCM) that determines when shifts should occur. The TCM tells shift solenoids when to make the shift and then they are responsible. Either of the two can cause the issue. What you need to do is have the vehicle tested. While driving the vehicle, a scanner needs to be attached to see where the problem is coming from. The scanner should indicate if the TCM is causing the issue or shift solenoids are not reacting.

Have that done and let me know what you find.
