When I turn the steering to the full right or left limits, the power steering pump will seize up just for a moment causing the belt to squeal. If I continue to force the right and left, it will continue to seize up.

I have had the limiters replaced on the steering column to prevent over steering. A new steering pump was put in also and the problem continues.

Any ideas.

If you are at the limits and try to hold it there or force it further, the pressure builds in the pump and will cause this.

I replaced the pump thinking a faulty pump was causing the build up in pressure. I am to assume there is some release valve, or pressure valve that is not opening when the pressure reaches the point where the pully seizes?
