I have a 1986 Dodge Ram 150 318, which recently turned 102,000 miles. The Engine maintenance light has come on. I have read the forum for how to turn it off, I was wondering what maintenance needs to be preformed at this time or if this is an error with the light itself

Dodge used to program something to make this light come on at about 60,000 miles to remind you to change the EGR valve whether it needed it or not. I think that any actual problem would cause a check engine light rather than engine maintenance. I have seen the light turned off on a Chevvy P/U by removing then reinstalling the wire on the EGR valve.
