I own a 1985 Dodge ram d-100 , 2 w/d , 6 cyl. with about 125,000 miles on it. I only use it to get back and forth to work so i'm trying to get one more year out of it. I'm having trouble with my left rear taillight/brake light. Its very dim and when my tail lights are on my brake light doesnt work. The right side is fine.

it sounds like you have a ground problem try hooking a jumper wire to the ground side of the or base of the bulb holder and then to a clean metal location. if that changes your brightness then you need to find the connection point of the ground and clean that up. or replace the ground wire
good luck.
