The motor for the rear drivers side window is not working. My window was smashed by theives and the window repair company said I need to buy a new unit to raise and lower window. Dodge said the old one should be able tobe rewound.

1. How do Iremove the door skin without damaging it?

2. How woudl I rewind the unit to raise and lower it?

Any help would be appreciated. this is hte first time visiting this site so thanks in advance.

Hi:
The door panel will be held on by a few screws and plastic clips behind the panel itself. It's easy to remove the screws, but the clips are a different story. There is a special tool that most body shops have that goes under the panel and removes the clips. You can try to pull them out by hand, but you may end up with a few broken clips and a damaged panel. If you try, just be careful and if it feels like it doesn't want to come off, don't force it.

As far as the the other problem, I'm confused. The PW motor doesn't have a coiled spring. Please explain.
