Engine Performance problem
2005 Other Dodge Models 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 70000 KMS ----------------------------------------------------------------
My 2005 dodge SX 2.0 putters when I start the car,
when I shift into drive the car engine seems to lose power for a second as I give it gas....thn its all good. Seems to be very tempermental when AC is working. It some times happens when am reversing too. RPM's at Ilde are slightly less than 1000 rpm. Could it be RPM"s are not set proper?

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Hi:

The idel should be around 900 RPS in neutral / park. As far as the rough idle, that could come from several things. Is the check engine light on? Also, the AC puts a load on the engine, so chances are if there is a problem, you'll feel it more.
