2001 Dodge ram cargo van 1500

Engine Performance problem
2001 Dodge CARGO VAN V8 5.2 rwd Automatic o/d 80,000 gas fuel injected

My truck occsionally does not start. It is random. mostly after rain or humidity.

I notice it more now then in the past.
I have fuel and spark.
I do notice now that it hesitates upon rapid acceleration. Or should i say spits and looking to back fire. Tho not all the time.

i do notice that when i release the key after the cranking position it sounds like as if it wants to start when it decides not to start.
I ask cause, I rather not change the whole distributor along with all the guts.


Any suggestions would help.
