what does oil sending unit do what is its job?

the sending unit is an electrical switch that when pressure is put on it it closes and the electricity sent to it is modified tooperate the guage on our dash. If it works correctly it will tell you about how much oil pressure your engine is making while running. the same goes for the coolant sensor on ly tells temp and fuel leve indicator.only it tells level of fuel in the tanks.
