i have a 1987 dodge d150 that i just rebuilt the motor in last spring. it has a 318 5.2l v8.

my problem is i have a popping noise coming from my left side exhaust, and my motor shakes. it also has lost power. i have pulled compression on all 8 cyl and it was fine. changed my plugs wires cap and rotor, my transmission was rebuilt last spring also and has a new torque converter. dont no what else to do.

pull the valve cover off and see if you have a bent pushrod. Look at the rocker arms while it's running and see if they are all ging up and down evenly. My guess is you have a bad lobe on your camshaft or a bad lifter if not the bent/broken pushrod.
