Transmission problem
1978 Other Dodge Models V8 Automatic 61000 miles

The transmission went out on our motor home. Per the mechanic, they were unable to locate a rebuilt transmission, so they are going to rebuild the one in it. What should we expect this to cost? Ballpark?

in order to rebuild the tranny they have to remove it, and reinstall it after its rebuilt, so expect to pay anywhere from $2000-3000.... thats average... keep in mind, once the tranny is rebuilt, it is BETTER than new.... usually parts get upgraded to prevent future failure.....
