Alot of things can cause this, timing, idling to low, dirty air filter, dirty fuel filter, etc. If you put a manual choke on it make sure it opens up all the way when you push it in. That may be the problem. Or he choke pull off may still be there and pulls the choke plate open. You need to recheck your installation.
